NWFF possesses Certified Industrial Hygienists, Certified Safety Professionals and Qualified Environmental Professionals to solve small compliance issues to large scale complex projects. Our History

NWFF started business in 1989 in Philomath, Oregon as a wild land fire-fighting operation, thus the name “North West firefighters” or NWFF. NWFF’s marine division was recognized by the U.S. Coast Guard in 2007 as an Oil Spill Response Organization (OSRO) for coastal and inland waterways. Additionally, the State of Washington Department of Ecology designated NWFF as a Primary Response Contractor for marine spills. NWFF has acquired extensive experience with PCB, dielectric oil spills and land-based response to spills ranging from small diesel spills to over-turned tanker trucks. NWFF customizes its spill response agreements to meet individual client needs, both public and private entities.

In 2018, NWFF was purchased by new owners who incorporated new certifications and extensive experience in the Occupational Safety field. As a result, NWFF’s core environmental businesses include Emergency Response, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Engineering, Training, and Emergency Planning services. In the spring of 2019, NWFF acquired Environmental Contracting Solutions, Inc (ECS), a Kodiak, Alaska based company that provided single source health, safety and environmental consultancy.
